What is it?
The Journal #3 is a book which is based off the insanely popular children's television show 'Gravity Falls'. During the show, the main protagonists use the Journal to save their skin, and now us curious readers can dive into the life of the mysterious author. The Journal is packed chock-full of hidden secrets, inexplicable stories, and some great humor.
What's it about?
The Journal #3 is a biologist journal written by an unknown author. The book itself is where he keeps his discoveries on the nature of a small town in Oregon called Gravity Falls. During the first 40 pages or so he talks about his discoveries, but then states to us that his goal is to find out where the weird and wonderful creatures he finds come from. (Details on Section 1) Eventually, he builds a portal to what he thought was some sort of 'Weirdness Dimension', however, something went wrong, and the author was never heard from again. From that point on, the story evolves further, and what we get is a gripping tale of a boy attempting to pick up from where the author left.

Why This Book?
I wanted to write a book report on Journal #3 for 2 humongous reasons. The first on being that 'Gravity Falls' (The TV series) is hands down my favorite animated series. Not only are the characters relatable and the humor great, but the story itself really shines out the most. Second, of all, the book itself hides so many secrets it's quite honestly shocking. For example, in order to hide his research, the author decides to use three ciphers to write his notes. However, when that fails, he decides to start using invisible ink to hide secrets. What's amazing, is that if you shine dark light over some pages, hidden text will appear! Now, let's cut the chase and talk about the actual book.
